Yesterday, Emily and I went to Casa Bonita, of South Park fame (season seven, episode eleven). If Disney World is the happiest place on earth than Casa Bonita is the gaudiest place on Earth. It is surrounded by countless pawnshops; check cashing services, hourly rate motels, and the professionals who use them.
Although the suggested fare is to eat one hundred sopapillas, and go through Black Bart’s Cave fifty times, Emily and I just ate two or three sopapillas and went through Black Bart’s cave once. There was a puppet show and a mariachi band, we could not find the dancing monkeys in costume, but we did find the cliff divers. If cliff diving is stupid outside, it is a special kind of stupid inside.
I really want to write about this gaudy place but we are watching “Meet The Fockers” and it is traumatizing. It is on the list of reasons to not have a wedding and just elope. Your parents always tell you that they were your age and have been where you are at any point in your life. However, parents rarely if ever demonstrate this in practice. I cannot watch the rest of this movie: I am going to be sick and I am going to Texas this afternoon and should pack maybe. I just ate pizza and watermelon, so for my road trip I have diarrhea and heartburn.
You suck. You suck so bad. I want to go to Casa Bonita. More sopapillas pleas!

San,
One of the many Steege trips to Denver-san was highlighted by the infamous Casa Bonita! One of my greatest childhood memories was seeing the flying human waterfall and rope swinging tricks! I didn't know there was food there since I was in such awe (we don't see that in WY). Casa Bonita should be one of the wonders of the world. You should see the haunted cave during Halloween!
