Yesterday I was marching my students down the hallway and we passed an altercation between a teacher monitoring lunch and a student who is not in her class. This little boy is one of my favorite kids. His teacher last year did not like him, she tends not to like boys, and that endeared him to me. He has this habit of slapping his forehead when he makes a mistake and saying, “Oh, Crap!”
The problem with this instance was not that he slaps his forehead or that he says, “crap,” at school. The problem was he had no sufficiently wiped himself or washed his hands afterward and had crap all over his hand. When he slapped his forehead and said, “Oh, Crap!” He had put said crap on his forehead with an unceremonious splat.
I then I had the Herculean task of not laughing and insuring that my students did not laugh as we marched passed the developing scene of splattered poop on this child’s very ample forehead. We made it to our classroom, shut the door, and let loose.
In other news: I have concert tickets. I am going, going, gone.
It's supposed to be the teachers that put the crap in children's heads, not the children themselves.

Oh, that's beautiful -- the new design, I mean. I can see everything. The poor kid, on the other hand...well, maybe he should have used the other hand.

What a character! That is wonderful news on the concert; I know you were very upset about it.

Oh crap kid and I are one in the same. I say OH CRAP with everything and now my kids say it. It's a real white trash moment for all of us.
