• My students are writing their own version of “The Hard-Knock Life” to describe their plight and because the quicker girls have realized that is what I am quoting when I say, “For the crying, you’d think this place would sink.”
• I saw Weezer and Foo Fighters last Saturday in concert and it was amazing. I would describe it for you but any time someone has asked me about the concert their eyes have glazed over if I gave specific details as if I were showing vacation slides or pictures of my new grandson.
• I was late for work because I sat through three green lights waiting for a school bus to unload as chatty mothers kibitzed on the corner, on a busy thoroughfare as if they were the only people on earth. I will just say it: mothers and oldsters, I realize that you think you are important and put upon, but you are not the only people on earth. Your child is not that amazing or clever, either.
• Schedule permitting, I will be having dinner with Suburban Island on Tuesday at Grand Central Station.
• I am late for work.
My boys ARE amazing and clever. With a mother like me, how could they not be?

Give Marie a big hug from Stargazer! Tell her I hope she is doing OK with the blood pressure stuff. (make sure she relaxes) I have found more and more people these days who think that the whole world revolves around them. Tiresome.

Dinner in NYC with Spritopias will be the high point of my week. I love the Foo Fighters too.
